Chess Computers - The UK Story
Hi All
I have put together an article about the UK connection with chess computers over the last 30 years. There is quite a lot of information about Richard Lang, David Levy, Mark Taylor, Mike Johnson etc that is new to the internet. Also I am hoping for some more from Richard Lang about his days with Hegener+Glaser. I hope that you enjoy it. http://www.chesscomputeruk.com/html/..._uk_story.html All the best Mike |

AW: Chess Computers - The UK Story
Although the story is quite interesting, I'm afraid the pictures of the protagonists are a bit old, aren't they? For instance, the photos that show Richard Lang are at least twenty years old, right? Are there any newer photos available?
I understand - of course - that, if you tell a story of the nineteeneighties the pictures also have to be from that time. Nevertheless I really would like to know what Richard and the others are looking like today. Can you help me? Thanks in advance. |

Hi guys
Thank you very much for the encouragement. As Micha may have guessed this was intended to be a Wiki article on Intelligent Software Ltd which got completely out of control. In putting the article together I opened up quite a lot of SciSys machines to see what was inside (and took photos), so the information on the SciSys hardware and programmers should be more reliable now. Just for you Tom here are a couple of photos of Oldies. David Broughton and Martin Bryant. Photos of these guys at any age are difficult to find. The latest I have of Richard Lang is about 1990. If anyone has good photos I would be only too happy to include them. ![]() ![]() All the best Mike |
