I looked at the manual. There was an english, a french and a german version. But I am sorry, I have no photos of the buttons.

But this doesn't mean that also the buttons existed in these 3 languages. I'd rather believe that these languages (at least French) are only used for the messages on the LCD display.

Which I am rather surprised is that the Mark V (different to the Mark VI) doesn't seem to support the external sensor board (at least Berger confirmed this), although both (English and German) manuals definitely claim the opposite!?

That's true. Even on french chesscomputer-sites I never saw a Mark V with buttons in french.

The manual mentions the intelligent sensor board. The same thing was advertised (scroll down here: http://www.chesscomputeruk.com/html/...sor_board.html ) but it was never released.

The left edge connector does not do anything on the MK V. The module slot next to the LCD works, maybe the intelligent sensor board was designed to plug into there.

The "dumb" sensory board from 1983 only works with MK VI. Even if I forcefully add it to MK V, the program will just lock up.

Well the english manual says (on page 9) "The PERIPHERAL KEY enables you to switch this special chessboad (they talk about the auto sensory board here) on and off to use its different modes, and to use any other peripherals we may introduce in the future."

In my opinion this means that also the other sensory board should work with the Mark V.

But... the world will continue rotating around the sun, even if it doesn't work

Says so in a reseller advert too: "Wichtig: das natural play sensorbrett lasst sich nur verwenden, wenn ihr mark v mit dem neuen programm modul (MK6) ausgestastes ist"

OK, looks like the MK5 manual is a typical example for broken promises... But as I said before... doesn't matter. The Earth will continue to rotate, with and without the board...

Mark V / Mark VI+brett treiber ist fertig. Vielen dank an Berger, und auch 'anonymous' fur MK6 sensorbrett romdump.

Sensorbrett funktioniert nur mit MK VI.
Button labels sind zweitalig (Deutsch und English)

Also , ich bin immer wieder entzückt wie ihr die Artwork und die Emulation 1 zu 1 umsetzt.
Schon alleine das Display vom Mark V Besser geht es gar nicht.
Bin schon mega gespannt wenn Franz das Update hoch lädt.
Vielleicht noch mit Einbindung zu MessChess . Das wäre super.
Meinen Mark V habe ich jetzt über 35 Jahre und er funktioniert noch.
Allerdings sind die Tasten im laufe der Zeit sehr schwer gängig.
