The Petrov, Classical Attaack, Marshall variation was played and the game ended after 29 moves with MCGP2024 resigning.
Here is the position after White had moved 14. Qc2:
White has its Queen and Bishop on the same diagonal to Black’s Rook Pawn. Here the MCGP2024 played 14…Bd5?? Why not 14…h6 saving the pawn?
It’s a curious game because slowly Black started retreating its pieces ending up with its King, Queen and Bishop huddled together in the corner!
An interesting match and possibly has some more exciting games than those in the first match where the MCGP2024 was using the Classic book. These games show how dangerous the Maia bot can be when allowed to search rather than just relying on its neuronal weights. It also shows some more evidence that the MCGP2024 does not fare so well using the Modern book.
I hope you enjoyed watching these games.
