But, luckily both games write the LCD text to a fixed location in RAM. You can see it in the debugger (mame ccmk5 -debug, New Memory Window, scroll down to $3E6E)

But I'm not sure if I can manage this correctly, because I'm not a LUA-plugin expert at all.
