Hallo an alle!

So I found there are 2 different manuals for this device with different technical data described:

1) RISC 25Mhz/ (16bit-?), 512kb ROM, 256kb/118ht RAM, 123k book (fits data in schach-info/Wiki);

2) SH7020 20Mhz/ (seems to me its 32bit (!!!)), 1mb ROM (!!!), 256kb/118ht RAM, 200k book (!!!).

Both marked simply Star Diamond, not SD "special" or "II"

I have no idea does one of this manual correct or wrong, so would like to know your opinions about all this stuff...

are you sure there are two different hardware versions of the Star Diamond?

Maybe you can check it out with some test positions. Which version do you own?

Nein, es existiert nur eine Star Diamond Version.

Die Angaben in einigen Bedienungsanleitungen (SH7020 / 1MB / 32 Bit / 200.000 HZ) stammen aus der Anfangszeit. Mit diesen Angaben wurde der Star Diamond ursprünglich angekündigt.

Leider wurde der Star Diamond dann aber doch nur mit den bekannten Hardware Spezifikationen (HS8/2312 CISC Prozessor (25 MHz), 512 KB ROM und 256 KB RAM) verkauft.

Daher der Hinweis: check your Hardware, not your manual.

Für mich immer wieder faszinierend, wie in anderen Foren (Hiarcs) klare Fakten (überprüfte Hardware) ignoriert werden und aufgrund von Manual-Einträgen Aussagen getroffen werden.

...but a bit below (General Functions):

Both is correct. It "uses a 32-bit internal architecture as a core", which is more or less marketing chatter. This is a 16-bit CPU.
