Re: Der Mephisto Phoenix - mehr als "nur" ein Schachcomputer
When I connected with my retailer about the Phoenix board and the minor warping effect, they told me that it was 'normal' that the feet in the center of the board should not touch the table (few mm), and that the board should 'flex' when pressed in the center. I do not agree with this and I have a regular Supreme tournament 55 (wood veneer) board for comparison in which it is perfectly flat and the center feet touch the table (no flex).
Can anyone else with the Phoenix full size 55 board comment on this? Do you see minor curvature of the board upwards in the center? Do your board's center feet make contact with your table surface?
Attached are a couple of pictures to illustrate the effect.. I used the level on the table to ensure that the table itself was flat and level (it is). The Phoenix board itself is the sole cause of the curvature in the pictures for my unit.
