ja, damals in grauer Vorzeit hab ich ja mal für die Mephistos jeweils beide Versionen gebastelt (Modular und Exclusiv).
Im Anhang ist das Modular-Board für den Glasgow, in CB-Emu brauchst Du das nur in die Datei 'Board.zip' ((im 'artwork'-Verzeichnis) entpacken.

*edit* note that it's not required for emulation. I made a lot of hacks in the 1802 emulation to get MMI a bit playable, and I see it's trying to read an opening book ROM.

hap... I just remembered that I have a Mirage module somewhere. If you want, I can open it and make the romdump, pcb details, etc.

Ist es richtig? MM I ist basiert auf Mephisto III, Mirage ist basiert auf ESB II(Mephisto II). Mephisto III ist starker dann Mephisto II, aber Mirage ist starker dann MM I?

yep, everything is correct. Maybe the Mephi III is higher in the list because it was always taken a 6.1 MHz Version and games with Mephi II were played more often with 3.5 MHz ... also, the Mephi II ESB is stronger than the normal Mephi II.

So I am not sure which computer would win a match of 20 games, the Mephi II ESB 6.1 MHz or the Mephi III with 6.1 MHz.

Only 1 way to find out for good: make them play against eachother (they're on equal hardware, so any minor emulation inaccuracies will be shared and thus won't affect result). If it turns out Mirage really is stronger than MM1, maybe MM1 B would be able to win it.

I added limited CDP1806 emulation, enough for MM1 and Mirage, they're playable now. Just need to do the internal artwork.

Mephisto MM I / Mirage treiber ist fast fertig.

Was mir so auffällt. Lauf Anleitung soll der Novag Octo auf Level 6 in der Regel um die 3 Minuten benötigen (das Level steht laut Anleitung für eine 40/120-Turnierpartie). In der Emu braucht er auf dieser Stufe in der Normaleinstellung (also 100 %) und mit eingestellten 12 MHz Taktfrequenz aber selten mehr als 30 Sekunden (meistens irgendwas zwischen 15 und 25 Sekunden).

Frage: Verhält er sich im Original auch so oder stimmt da was mit der Emulation nicht? Ein ähnliches Verhalten (deutliches Unterschreiten der durchschnittlichen Bedenkzeit) findet sich auch beim Chessmaster und beim Chessmaster Diamond (wobei ich bei letzterem hier die Match-Stufe nicht verwendet habe sondern Level 8, in dem er aber ähnlich spielen sollte).

When the Novag Octo and Presto driver was made, I remember comparing the real computer with the emulation, and the behavior seemed identical to me. In this case I would say that the manual does not respond to reality. Regarding Chessmaster and Chessmaster Diamond, I don't know.
