Hi,
next match is an interesting one: Novag Super Nova vs Tandy 2150.
With 72 CElo points in favor of the Novag, odds are 60/40 for the Kittinger program. As far as CPU performance is concerned, according to my estimate the 4 Mhz 6301Y of the Novag (16 Mhz with /4 divider) is close to, ~12% faster though, the 3 Mhz 65C02 of the Tandy.
And the outcome is... 1.5 points granted to the Tandy!
Despite playing the dark side, the Chess Champion 2150 played, to my humble opinion, a very good first game; positionally accurate and without obvious tactical flaws. If you check the position after move #16, you should see a strong center domination with a rather nice chain of Pawns, whilst the Super Nova has little to oppose. After move 38, the game is over for the Novag, still with that overwhelming center chain. Very impressive!
During the revenge game, the Super Nova dominated for a while, but the advantage faded away while reaching endgame. The prospects are then a drawn game, but the Tandy blundered on move 63 - a really bad tactical flaw - and the game was immediately a promised win for the Super Nova, with a Knight plus a Pawn advantage. Unfortunately it faced a dilemna: either sacrifice its Knight or its Pawn - and understandably but so wrongly chose to save the Knight, losing any chance for victory.
